With new lighting in selected guest rooms, restaurant, and spa, Hotel Jammertal creates an aesthetically-pleasing environment that supports daily activities and nocturnal recovery. Jammertal Golf & Spa Resort is an award-winning wellness-hotel, located in the countryside of north Dortmund. The challenge was not only customizing and integrating the LED system, but it was critical that the fixtures be highly durable in damp areas such as the showers and salt water spa. In addition to the LED luminaires from OSRAM and Siteco, Traxon Liner XB and Nano Liner XB were integrated into the solution. With an IP66 rating, Nano Liner XB is the ideal solution for exterior illumination and humid environments, and its slim profile allows for installation in even the shallowest of alcoves. Bright, cold white light has an energizing effect in the morning and throughout the day, while at night the light is dimmed so that warm white light, which supports relaxation and recovery, takes precedence. An e:cue Butler S2 controls the dynamic daylight simulation, including a wake-up light that illuminates the entire sleeping room. Manual control of the lighting scenes is possible in all areas of the hotel and can be managed with an e:cue Glass Touch User Interface. A study by the Bergisch University of Wuppertal, Germany, which compared the effects of the advanced LED systems with the existing lighting, shows in subjective and objective measurements that well-being and recovery can be enhanced by chronobiological lighting conditions.
