Lighting designer Tobias Link developed the lighting concept for a wellness spa and large multi-car garage at a private estate in Switzerland. The residence’s spa area includes changing rooms, showers, massage rooms, a sauna, a large swimming pool, and steam baths. The lighting effect over the swimming pool is comprised of painted wood trusses which emulates the wash of the waves. This wave glows from its interior towards the ceiling and indirectly illuminates the whole room. The white general lighting is combined with dynamic color effects and creates an appealing ambience. Additionally, light highlights the architecture and texture of the stone wall around the perimeter of the pool. For the garage, Tobias Link designed a light installation of glowing curved lines, inspired by the movements of a driving car. Different color saturation and color-changing effects allow the room to continually feel like a new experience. Nine e:cue Butler XT and Lighting Control Engine 2 (LCE2) are responsible for the control of the LED solution. An e:cue Glass Touch T6 allows for simple selection of one of the four preprogrammed lighting scenarios that align with the customer’s vision.
