An exclusive spherical IMAX theatre in the “Parc de la Villette” at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris, La Géode is equipped with the only 12.1-watt sound system in the world. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, project architect Adrien Lambert converted the reception and restaurant spaces into open areas featuring an architectural LED installation, thus improving public traffic flow and creating a clear transition zone between La Géode’s arrival and waiting areas. To create his dynamic vision, Adrien Lambert selected a flexible lighting solution from Traxon and with it, he created one of the largest Dot XL installations in Europe, covering a wall space of 100-square meters. To meet the demands of a challenging surface while providing the desired lighting outcome, 1300 Dot XL-6 RGB with diffusers, mounted on flexible cables, achieved the customized 20-to-22.5cm pixel pitch. The Dot XL-6, controlled by e:cue Butlers, form a galaxy experience for every visitor prior to entering the “Géode Planet”. Through its simplicity and flexibility of installation, Dot XL technology enabled the project architect to realize his concept, creating precise ambiences and graphic animations on La Géode’s entrance wall.
