At the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China, the Tibet Pavilion captured international attention and received accolades for its captivating façade. Made possible by Traxon & e:cue’s LED lighting and control systems, the pavilion’ s dynamic façade transported tourists to the enchanting heights of the Tibetan Plateau. The façade of the Tibet Pavilion was wrapped with a color-printed fabric screen depicting the beautiful Lhasa City and surrounding landscape. 600 Traxon Mesh RGB systems were positioned behind a printed fabric screen and programmed to interact with the colored fabric. With precision control and video replay facilitated by e:cue’ s Video Micro Converter (VMC), the static depiction of Lhasa City and its enchanting landscape became dynamic. On the façade of the Tibet Pavilion, mountain streams rushed, mist swirled, and the Tibetan Plateau transitioned from day to night. According to Gary Crestejo, Business Director of LEDARTIST, the primary designer, programmer, and integrator of the Tibet Pavilion, “We were glad our client chose Traxon, and were impressed with the quality and system reliability of their products.”
