The Luminale is a biannual lighting festival focusing on lighting design and light-based art. Located in Frankfurt, Germany, it accompanies Light + Building, one of the most important international trade shows for lighting design. During the Luminale landmarks in the city of Frankfurt and in other parts of the Rhine-Main region are illuminated by installations created by various lighting designers. More than 100,000 visitors enjoyed the night scenery during the Luminale 2008. During this year's festival, Traxon worked together with Osram on a project illuminating the Luther Church in Frankfurt. By using acoustical sensors, visitors were actively involved by being able to influence the light projections on the church wall. The installation contained Traxon's new and innovative Mesh RGB serving as a highly versatile, modular LED screen. Using its easy-mounting system, the Mesh RGB was installed in the shape of equalizers that directly reacted to the acoustical impulses posted by visitors using the connected acoustical sensors. This fascinating effect was highlighted by Traxon's high-brightness Wall Washer XB and Traxon's Nano Liner XB whose sleek design perfectly matched the restrictive requirements of the church's outdoor facade.
